SC State's Mission of Leadership A legacy of leadership. It's a goal of most major universities. But at South Carolina State University (SCSU) in Orangeburg, it's not just a goal - it's a mission statement. For over 100 years, Orangeburg County's largest institute of higher learning has been providing a comprehensive educational environment to students as well as local businesses through its unique role as a land-grant university.
Dr. Leroy Davis, President of SCSU states, "We have several programs that are congruent to businesses because all land-grant institutions are based on engineering and science components that are very structured and disciplined. SCSU provides excellence in over 60 degree programs, from the bachelor to the doctorate level. Some of the university's major fields of study include programs in speech/audiology, nutritional sciences, rehabilitation, counseling, criminal justice and one of three accredited social work programs in the state.
